Politeness & Etiquette

"The world was my oyster but I used the wrong fork." - Oscar Wilde, Author

Spain is a country with a rich culture and history. It is one of the most visited countries in Europe and has a lot to offer tourists. The Spanish are usually very polite people, so they will greet you with “Buenos días” or “Buenas tardes” when you meet them on the streets. When they invite you to their houses, they will say “Mucho gusto” or "Encantada" which means "nice to meet you." They will also give you two besos (kisses) on each side of your cheek when you met.

You should always wait for your turn when it comes to speaking and never interrupt someone else's conversation. Talk a lot during dinner or in the living room and keep your door open in the house.
